As a PCMag reviewer, I test dozens of phones every year. Some of them are terrific, but their sky-high price tags make them hard to justify—unless there’s a big sale, like there is now. We’ve scoured all the new deals available from Amazon, and we’ve found some stellar discounts on the best phones that we can’t wait to share with you. But you’ll want to be decisive: Amazon’s fall Prime Day ends tonight, and these deals are likely expiring in a few hours.

Below, I’ll focus on two of my favorites, the Google Pixel 9a and the Samsung Galaxy Edge S25. Either of these phones will give you plenty of power, excellent cameras, and the latest AI features at a much lower price than usual. But after this, be sure to check out our reviews and our full coverage of the very best sales from Prime Big Deal Days 2025 as well.

Spectacular AI and Cameras for Much Less

The Google Pixel 9a packs Google’s best software and hardware into a lower-cost phone. Its cameras capture beautiful images, and AI tools like Magic Eraser and Reimagine perform complex edits quickly. The screen is bright and easy to see outdoors, making it easy to compose shots, and Auto Frame keeps your subjects centered. Moreover, Google backs the Pixel 9a with seven years of OS updates, Pixel Drops, and security fixes. The Pixel 9a typically starts at $499, but Amazon has slashed the 128GB model to $349 (about 30% off) and the 256GB model to $449 (about 25% off).

A Thin Phone With a Thick Discount

At just 0.23 inches thick, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is the slimmest Galaxy S phone yet. Just because it’s thin doesn’t mean it skimps on features. Samsung loads the phone with Galaxy AI, productivity tools like DeX, and a top-tier camera system. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite powers the Edge, putting it among the fastest Android phones we’ve tested this year. On-device Galaxy AI stands out with Audio Eraser, which separates voices, background noise, and music in your recorded videos in real time. The 6.7-inch OLED display is bright, crisp, and fluid, so media and games look excellent in any setting.

Pricing starts at $1,099.99 for the 256GB model and $1,219.99 for the 512GB model. Right now, Amazon lists the 256GB model for $649.99, representing a 41% discount, and the 512GB model for $769.99, or 37% off. In my opinion, the low price of the 256GB model makes it a steal. Samsung also backs the phone with seven years of OS and security updates, which makes the Edge a sensible long-term buy if you want a slim phone that still delivers flagship performance.

Experience

I’m one of PCMag’s mobile analysts. That means I check out phones, hotspots, and mobile networks. Technology has been my passion and hobby since I was a child. I’ve covered tech professionally for over 15 years at outlets including The Apple Blog, This Week in Tech, and .

I’ve written and presented information about hundreds of phones, tablets, smart home devices, fitness gadgets, technology business dealings, congressional hearings, and a whole lot more.

I enjoy putting advancements in technology in simple-to-understand language with context that explains why it matters or not.

My daily driver phone of several years is the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G. I wound up with a Note after I found myself writing ideas on bar napkins while my old phone (a Pixel) sat unused. I looked at it and wondered, “Why can’t I write ON my phone?”

My choice of computer varies with whatever task I’m doing. If I’m editing video, I’m using my M1 Mac mini. If I’m just casually browsing or writing, any machine with a quality keyboard works for me. I’ve been known to write things using my Note 20 or an iPad with a Bluetooth keyboard.

I also enjoy having smart home products in my apartment. I’ve been in both the Amazon and Google ecosystems, but mostly use Google Home devices at this point. I’ve spent a lot of time making sure that this smart apartment easily works for my family. That way, I can sneak more and more tech toys into my home without arousing the suspicion of my spouse.
