Walmart’s U.S. website is now selling the Unitree G1 humanoid robot for US$21,600, with free shipping and a six-unit purchase limit. The same model costs RMB 99,000 (about US$13,500) in China. The listing went viral on X after one user posted a screenshot, writing, “Chinese robot on Walmart b4 (before) American lab even ships 5 is completely insane.”

Hangzhou-based Unitree has supplied the G1 to research labs worldwide and positioned it as a low-cost platform for AI and robotics development. Listing the robot on Walmart fits its goal of making humanoid robots accessible beyond industrial buyers. The company is reportedly preparing for a multibillion-dollar IPO and plans to release a cheaper R1 model next year. [IThome, in Chinese]
