Google is taking its AI-powered shopping experience to the next level. After bringing virtual clothing try-ons to its platform earlier this year, the company has now expanded the feature to include footwear – allowing users to see how shoes would look on them before hitting the “buy” button. In a blog post on The Keyword, Google announced that shoppers can now use its AI-driven “try-on” feature to preview how different pairs of shoes would appear when worn. The process is simple – all users have to do is upload a full-length photo, and Google’s AI will instantly show what the shoes would look like on them. It’s a handy way to get a feel for the fit and style without stepping into a store. news Also Read: Google Expands Opal To India: Here’s How You Can Build Apps in Minutes Using AI

The tool functions much like Google’s existing apparel try-on feature, which was introduced earlier this year. When browsing for shoes on Google Search, users can tap on the “Try It On” option, upload their image, and see an AI-generated preview within seconds. Once generated, users can even save the image or share it with friends to get a quick second opinion before placing an order. news Also Read: Pixel 10 Series Struggles With Genshin Impact? The new feature builds on Google’s growing focus on using AI to make online shopping more intuitive and personalised. Earlier this year, Google rolled out virtual try-ons for clothes, letting shoppers see how different outfits look on various body types. Now, by expanding that same technology to shoes, the company is making the online shopping experience more personal, interactive, and true-to-life.

The move also builds on Google’s Doppl app, introduced in June, which uses AI to show how outfits might look and move in real life. The app uses generative AI to simulate how outfits would appear on users and even creates short AI-generated videos to show how clothes move in real life.

Google’s virtual try-on tools are also expanding beyond the US, with the company confirming rollouts in Australia, Canada, and Japan.
