Recently, in preparation for China’s 11.11 shopping festival, DJI launched a large-scale promotion, slashing prices on several of its products by hundreds to over RMB 1,000 ($140). Related hashtags such as #DJI price cuts exceed 1,000 yuan# on Thursday began trending on Chinese social platform Weibo. The Osmo Pocket 3 standard edition dropped by RMB 700 ($100), the Mini 4 Pro drone by RMB 1,478 ($210), and the Action 4 sports camera saw a maximum discount of RMB 1,129 ($160). The move sparked discontent among customers who had recently purchased DJI products, with many expressing frustration on social media about feeling disappointed by the sudden price cuts. In response, DJI’s customer service said that its online platforms support a “7-day price protection + 30-day no-reason return” policy, allowing eligible buyers to request a refund of the price difference or return their purchases. For offline channels, due to differences in operation models, price protection has not been standardized, though some stores are reportedly negotiating compensation plans with the company.
