China’s State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) announced today that it has opened a case and launched an investigation into Qualcomm over its acquisition of V2X chipmaker Autotalks, for suspected violation of China’s Anti-Monopoly Law due to an alleged failure to file a concentration of undertakings.
Qualcomm disclosed the deal in May 2023 and completed it on June 6, 2024, saying the acquisition would expand its Snapdragon Digital Chassis and provide a comprehensive global V2X solution for vehicles and roadside infrastructure. [IThome, in Chinese]
