Fresh from the release of her record-breaking 12th album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” Taylor Swift has just sent the Swiftie army into further states of jubilation with the announcement that not one, but two, “The Eras Tour” projects are heading to Disney Plus this December (per Deadline).

The first is “The End of an Era.” This six-part documentary chronicles Swift’s globe-spanning “The Eras Tour,” which ran for 149 shows between March 2023 and December 2024. It was the most successful concert tour in music history, and as a lucky attendee of one of the eight London dates last summer, I can confirm it was one heck of a spectacle.

The announcement post states the doc will cover “the development, impact, and inner-workings that created the phenomenon that was The Eras Tour” and also offer “an intimate look at Taylor’s life as her tour made headlines and thrilled fans around the world.” The six-part series is also set to include numerous other famous faces, including Ed Sheeran, Sabrina Carpenter and Gracie Abrams, who all appeared at “Eras Tour” dates throughout the tour.

The documentary begins streaming on December 12 with a two-episode premiere event to kick off the rollout. Subsequent episodes will be dropped weekly in further batches of two. So, if you happen to live with a diehard Swiftie, expect your holiday viewing to be dominated by Taylor Swift.

And that’s not all…

If a new album, a theatrical launch party for said latest record, and a six-part documentary series weren’t enough for fans to consume, Taylor Swift has also confirmed the news that fans have been requesting for months. “The Eras Tour” concert movie is getting expanded with a new complete version.

The final date of the tour, held on December 8, 2024, in Vancouver, was filmed and is set to be released on Disney Plus on December 12 (the same date the first two episodes of the documentary begin streaming). Those out of the loop may wonder why this is a big deal, considering the “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” concert movie was already released back in October 2023, where it went on to gross more than $260 million at the global box office.

Well, in May 2024, the tour was reworked to incorporate Swift’s 10th studio album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” released in April of that year. Because the original “Eras Tour” movie was filmed and released before this LP dropped, it omitted the TTPD section. And ever since, fans have begged for a new movie that includes “The Tortured Poets Department” portion.

That wish is being granted as “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour: The Final Show” arrives on Disney Plus this December, and will include the full set from the final night. There is no indication that this new version of the concert movie will be released theatrically, and instead, it appears to be opting for a direct streaming release. Maybe it wants to avoid competing with “Avatar 3”?
