Barcelonaspecifically the city’s World Trade Center, will be the headquarters tomorrow, October 15, of the fourth edition of the LiceoTIC Congressand event for CIOs and technology executives of companies with the aim of analyzing the digital strategy, the economic impact of AI and the evolution of technological leadership in Spain.
During the LiceoTIC Congress, organized by Setesca, the results of the ICT Tools 2026 Study will also be presented, which will reveal the technological trends that will guide investment decisions during 2026.
The report, in whose preparation 279 companies from all sectors have participated, indicates that AI and cybersecurity have been consolidated as the two strategic axes of digital transformation. AI, especially generative and digital agents, is the most priority technology for 43% of Spanish CIOs, with practical applications in process automation and efficiency.
For 17% of them, the big concern is cybersecurity, driven by the adoption of AI and new European regulations, such as NIS2, ENS and ISO27001. 10% of companies have also increased their interest in hybrid cloud infrastructure, and another 9% in data analytics, which underlines the importance of data-driven models in the company.
Additionally, 78% of CIOs prioritize integration with existing systems, and 74% prioritize security and compliance as deciding factors in solution selection. In addition, Microsoft has further strengthened its position as the supplier with the greatest presence in companies. It is a leader in categories such as office automation, with 88% of companies in which it has a presence in this area with Microsoft 365. Also in ERP and CRM, with Dynamics 365, Security with Defender, and analytics with PowerBI.
The results of another study, that of IT Budgets 2026, will also be presented at the event, which will allow us to know where the technological investment of Spanish companies will go in the coming months.
According to the aggregate data of LiceoTIC members, which exceed 1,400 CIOs and IT Directors, technological investment in Spain will exceed 4.5 billion euros. Of them, 1,500 million will be in direct investment, and 3,000 million will go to IT operating expenses. In addition, success stories in the application of AI will be presented.
The LiceoTIC Congress will have the participation of CIOs from large companies, as well as experts in technological investment and representatives of capital funds. These will debate, among other topics, the future of work and automation, AI and business productivity, digital sustainability and technological transition or the role of ICT in the growth of ICT and the competitiveness of Spain. Among its contents, the presentation “The future of the CIO” also stands out, which will define the main competencies of the technological leader in the next decade.
