Always bigger, and always stronger? This year, Samsung is once again focusing on its high-end XXL tablet, with a Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra with an almost unchanged design, but with a muscular technical sheet. With its 14.6 inches and its completely overhauled Galaxy AI ecosystem, the premium slate very clearly aims to replace your laptop. But at €1,339 in basic configuration, does it really keep its promises?

A refined design despite an imposing size

The first thing that strikes you about the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra is its XXL format assumed. With its dimensions of 208.5 X 326.3 mm and its 692 grams, the tablet commands respect. Samsung has, however, managed the feat of making it even thinner than its predecessor. With its 5.1 mm thickness, it becomes the Thinnest Ultra tablet ever by the Korean manufacturer. The Armor aluminum chassis seems solid, but caution is still required, especially at this Price, and with this diagonal. The IP68 certification constitutes a significant asset for nomads, but we will happily add a folio case, which has the good taste of acting as both protective shells and keyboards, while offering a place to store the S-Pen stylus.

On the other hand, we appreciate the minimalist design of Samsung, which has opted for two all-purpose colors and particularly thin symmetrical borders of 5.2 mm. The screen occupies almost 91% of the front, interrupted by a discreet notch in the shape of a drop of water for the front camera. The four speakers are positioned on the side edges to avoid being hidden in landscape mode, and the USB-C port is positioned on the right edge in landscape mode, without hindering use.

New generation S-Pen

This is one of the most visible new features of this new generation. Samsung has completely revised its S-Pen with a hexagonal design inspired by a real pencil (and probably a bit of the Apple Pencil, let’s face it). The result is convincing, since it offers a better grip, while supporting greater tilt angles for precise control of writing and drawing. The magnetic attachment also becomes more practical, since it has been moved to the upper edge. It’s still not ideal when the tablet is slipped into a bag, but it’s better.

A screen that redefines Android standards

This is undoubtedly the strong point of this tablet: the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra comes with a 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel in WQXGA+ definition (1848 x 2960 pixels). With its 239 pixels per inch and its adaptive refresh rate between 60 and 120 Hz, the display is fluid, the colors deep, the contrasts exemplary. Nothing to say on this point, Samsung has always known how to handle its screens brilliantly, and this new premium iteration is obviously no exception to the rule. The device is intended more for professionals, content and image creators will find what they are looking for. If your goal is simply to browse, scroll and enjoy your films and series on the big screen, you will be more than served.

Bodybuilding tablet

Under the hood, Samsung is banking on the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ processor engraved in 3 nm, supported by up to 16 GB of RAM. Suffice it to say that the result lives up to expectations, even the most demanding. If the gap with the previous generation is not huge in terms of performance, the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra does better than the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra, and is infallible when it comes to multitasking. It does not heat up, even when used for several hours, avoids slowdowns, and manages to support even the most demanding games. This is not necessarily the most practical on such a large screen, but it will be enough to connect a Bluetooth controller to overcome the problem. In terms of productivity, it is possible to configure four separate workspaces, so you never lose track.

Definitely dedicated to productivity, the tablet is also equipped with its DeX mode, which benefits from some substantial improvements with the introduction of Extended Mode. It becomes possible to connect an external monitor to create a true dual-screen configuration, and the ability to slide applications between the tablet and the secondary screen.

We will quickly pass over it, as it has become a chestnut on this type of terminal: the photo module remains the traditional weak point of tablets, and the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra is no exception to the rule. The 13 MP (f/2.0) main sensor offers decent shots in ideal lighting conditions, but shows its limits as soon as darkness sets in. The 8 MP ultra-wide-angle suffers from uncorrected distortions and a general lack of sharpness. Fortunately, the 12 MP (f/2.4) selfie camera on the front correctly fulfills its role for videoconferencing, with ideal positioning in landscape mode.

Galaxy AI: artificial intelligence for productivity

This is one of the major new features of the new Galaxy generations: the Tab S11 Ultra now features advanced integration of Galaxy AI with One UI 8. The Gemini Live multimodal assistant can now not only understand textual, vocal and visual input. Enough to promise multimodal AI, and an assistant always ready to help you.

Among the most practical features, we find the Writing Assistant which automatically reformulates the tone of messages depending on the context, the Drawing Assistant which transforms your sketches into illustrations, or the Circle to Search function, which allows you to obtain real-time information on any element displayed on the screen. The Now Brief and Now Bar, inaugurated on the Galaxy S25, are also included.

Autonomy and recharging

With its 11,600 mAh battery, the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra displays remarkable endurance, with one to two days of use in intensive mixed use, and more than 20 hours of video playback. This autonomy easily allows you to last an intensive working day. The 45W recharge allows a complete cycle in just under two hours, a completely satisfactory timing for this type of product.

Price and availability

Priced from €1,340, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra tablet is available in gray and silver colors, as well as in three distinct configurations. A 5G option is also offered, for around €150 extra. Note that only the configurations change: for a more compact and more affordable format, you will have to turn to the gamme Galaxy Tab S11and its 11-inch screen.
