Team Cherry has released version 1.0.28954 of Hollow Knight: Silksong to its public beta channel, introducing a new Simplified Chinese translation and minor bug fixes. The developer said the update remains in testing and may still contain errors, encouraging players to submit feedback.

The update follows backlash from Chinese players, who criticized the previous translation for awkward phrasing and inconsistent tone—describing it as “half classical, half modern” and saying the human translation was “worse than AI.” The earlier version received “Mixed” reviews on Steam, prompting the studio to promise further improvements.
