Kobo has unveiled its first official e-reader remote control, giving book lovers a new way to flip pages without touching the screen.

The remote, which is powered by AAA batteries, connects via Bluetooth to some of the best e-readers like the Clara 2E, Clara BW, Clara Colour, Libra Colour, Libra 2, Sage, Elipsa, and Elipsa 2E. If your device has Bluetooth, it’s compatible.

With it, you can turn pages, play or pause audiobooks, and adjust volume – all without needing to touch your device. It’s not quite a fully hands-free experience, but it’s a useful step for anyone who wants to read comfortably from a distance or read in bed lying down with one of those fancy tablet holders.

And while e-readers have long had a selection of third-party remotes, this marks the first time Kobo has released one of its own. The remote, which is said to provide months of uninterrupted reading, comes in black or white and will be available from November 4, for just £24.99 / $29.99.
