Bang & Olufsen just turned 100 and to celebrate mark the milestone, it’s just dropped The Centennial Collection, a trio of beautifully reimagined classics that blend design heritage with some seriously sharp modern craftsmanship.

The limited-edition lineup revives three icons: the Beoplay H100, the Beosound A5, and the Beosound A9 (5th Gen). Each one channels a different decade, reflecting the Danish brand’s storied past.

“Timeless design has been at the heart of everything we craft,” CEO Kristian Teär says in a press release. And you can really see what he means – every piece in the Centennial Collection oozes nostalgia, from chequered grill patterns that echo B&O’s earliest radios to the vibrant 1970s palette of Century Red, Chestnut Brown and Century Blue.

Even the brushed aluminium finishes are a nod to the industrial vibe of the 1980s, along with stunning leather accents and precision-turned dials.

The Beoplay H100 Century Brown headphones blend titanium drivers and Dolby Atmos tech that delivers advanced noise cancellation and immersive sound. With a soft leather headband, brown ear cushions, and a touch of blue, it creates a look that feels as amazing as it sounds.

The Beosound A5 Century Weave takes a portable speaker and turns it into an art object, having chequered speaker grills, a raffia weave in Beige and Chestnut Brown, and a bright leather strap inspired by the 1950s. It comes with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, a long-lasting battery, and wireless charging.

Then there’s the Beosound A9 Century Blue. Wrapped in bold Centennial Cadence fabric from Kvadrat, it’s basically a sculpture that happens to play music, topped off with blue legs and aluminium details for that contrast.

Each piece is stamped with the B&O Est. 1925 logo and carries the founders’ old motto: “A never failing will to create only the best.

The Centennial collection doesn’t come cheap, but then again, it never does for B&O equipment. Prices start at £1,250 for the Beosound A5 Century Weave, climbing to £1,500 for the Beoplay H100 Century Bown, and £3,800 for the Beoplay A9 Century Blue. All three are available now.

One hundred years in, Bang & Olufsen is still setting the pace in audio design – mixing nostalgia, fresh ideas and impeccable style. It’s no wonder the brand also took home Best Outdoor Speaker at the Trusted Reviews Awards 2025 for the Beosound A1 Gen 3.
