Press release. The Minister for Digital Transformation and Public Service, Oscar Lopezhas inaugurated the VIII Alliance Forum for the Development of Digital Talent, organized by AMETIC and the International Organization of Human Capital Managers (DCH), in the Mediaset Spain studios.

In his speech, López called for the creation of national talent. For the minister, «creating Spanish talent is building European digital sovereignty. Spaces like this forum and agents like AMETIC are essential on the path towards a digital Spain that grows without leaving anyone behind. A digital and competitive Spain that is only possible with vision, resources, public-private collaboration and European values.”.

Furthermore, Óscar López has highlighted the national projects that make this progress possible. For example, “The National Digital Skills Plan, endowed with more than 3,070 million euros, has made it possible to train more than 2 million people”. To this end, he also wanted to remember the importance of public-private collaboration, an alliance that, for the minister, is more alive than ever. “In Spain we are allocating one in every four euros to this digital transformation. We are working on it jointly with many private sector companies”has concluded.

The institutional opening has continued with the participation of Juan Carlos Pérez Espinosapresident of DCH; Cristina Garmendiapresident of Mediaset España, and Francisco Hortigüelapresident of AMETIC. Pérez Espinosa has indicated that “The union of DCH, the main organization of human capital managers, and Ametic, the voice of the digital industry, is a great step to face the challenge of developing digital talent, as a key to the country’s competitiveness”.

Next, Cristina Garmendia, president of Mediaset España, stressed that “We live in an exceptional moment in which we are obliged to serve society with our maximum commitment. The revolution of generative Artificial Intelligence is not only transforming the economy, but the way we learn, create and collaborate. We have fully entered the era of augmented talent, where technology amplifies human capabilities, and where curiosity, creativity, empathy and ethics become the new critical competencies. We know that the “True technological progress begins with people and the future of talent will not depend only on mastering technology, but on giving it human meaning, on learning to live with artificial intelligence without losing empathy, ethics and critical thinking.”.

For his part, Francisco Hortigüela, president of AMETIC, has stated that “We are living in a moment of profound transformation. The digital revolution is not only changing business models, but also the way we work, learn and relate. In this new context, talent has become the true axis of economic and social progress”.

Hortigüela also wanted to highlight that the digital-technological sector “Today it is one of the most solid growth engines of the Spanish economy”. At the same time, he has assured that “The challenge is no longer just to grow, but to have the necessary talent to sustain that growth. Nine out of ten technology companies recognize difficulties in filling certain positions. Therefore, collaboration between administrations, companies and universities cannot be a declaration of intentions, but rather a real commitment to the country”.

Under the motto “Connected minds: global talent with the AI revolution”the eighth edition of the forum has brought together representatives of the administration, large technology companies and experts from the educational field to debate the challenges and opportunities that digitalization poses to the labor market and the role of talent and digital skills as engines of growth and competitiveness.

The morning program began with the intervention of Sonia MarchAI National Skills Director Spain at Microsoft. With the premise “Lighting the future: global talent in the age of AI”March has analyzed the new skills that are being imposed as a result of the rise of artificial intelligence, which will generate up to 78 million new jobs by 2030.

After it, block 1 called “Key profiles in the new labor market” has begun. In it, Héctor Mata, CEO of Shakers, was in charge of starting the session with a reflection on talent and training. During his speech, Mata explained a new way of understanding the work environment. “Flexibility in the work environment is not a fad, it is a new work operating system,” he explained.

Next, Monica Zai, Director of Human Resources? from Heineken; Cristina Martínez, director of Human Resources at Obramat; Mónica Herrero, People & Talent Directo Iberia & LATAM from Inetum; moderated by Jorge Molinero, CEO of ATISA; They have debated the need to train professionals to adapt their capabilities to the current needs of companies.

The morning continued with a presentation focused on digital talent and its potential as economic capital. In it, Jordi Arrufi, director of the MWC Talent Area, has shared an analysis of the state of digital talent in our country which, according to Arrufi, is increasingly specialized. Adrián Gómez, National Director of Randstad Digital Spain, was in charge of closing this first block of the day, sharing some perspectives on how the technological revolution is changing the demand for profiles.

Presentation of the Study of Salaries and Labor Policy

AMETIC has revealed the main conclusions of its Salary and Labor Policy Study, offering a complete X-ray of the technology sector in this area.

The report confirms the strength of the sector and the high qualification of its professionalswith an average salary that reaches 48,900 euros per year, which represents an increase of 3.2% compared to the previous year. The analysis also reflects differences according to the size of the company and the department, highlighting that the Sales and Marketing, and Consulting and Strategy positions are the best paid teams, while the lowest salaries are concentrated in the Systems Infrastructure, Maintenance and Plant departments.

The study also highlights the predominance of the indefinite contractwhich represents 94% of the total, as well as the high level of academic training, with 69.2% of professionals with a higher degree, mostly in IT and Telecommunications. On the other hand, the female presence in the sector stands at 39.2%, with a slight increase compared to the previous year.

Despite these good data, AMETIC warns that 90% of companies recognize difficulties in filling certain specialized positions, a sign of the shortage of digital talent that the sector is experiencing.
