Samsung just dropped its fastest microSD card yet – the P9 Express.

Samsung has unveiled its latest high-performance storage solution, the microSD P9 Express, promising state-of-the-art performance enhancements for devices like the Nintendo Switch 2 in storage and speed efficiency.

If you’re tired of your console running out of space or waiting ages for files to transfer, this one is for you.

Built on PCIe and NVMe tech, the P9 Express shoots up to 800 MB/s. That’s about four times quicker than the old UHS-I cards. It’s perfect for heavy gaming, editing 4K videos, or shuffling huge files between your PC and console.

Available in 256 GB for £58.59 and 512 GB for £99.99 capacities, the new card is pricey, but for those who need as much speed as possible, it could be a great buy. We would have liked to see a 1TB model, especially as file sizes, particularly games, are continually getting bigger.

If your device supports SD Express, the card’s Host Memory Buffer (HMB) technology borrows some of your system’s memory for faster load times. And with the Dynamic Thermal Guard (DTG), it keeps running cool and steady even during marathon gaming or editing sessions. Basically, it lets gamers create and enjoy SSD-like performance from a tiny memory card.

Samsung also includes its signature durability features. The P9 Express stands up against water, temperature, X-rays, wear-out, dust, and drops, ensuring your game saves or work files stay protected wherever you go.

It’s not just for gamers. If you’re editing videos, shooting photos, or moving big RAW files, that speed and reliability can really come in handy.

Both models hit shelves worldwide in November, so you won’t have to wait long to get a card that offers portable, high-speed storage.
