BYD has officially unveiled its first electric K-Car, the RACCO, at the 2025 Tokyo Motor Show. The model is designed specifically for the Japanese market and is scheduled to go on presale in summer 2026. The four-seat compact adopts Japan’s signature K-Car design, featuring a boxy body with four doors and rear sliding doors. It is equipped with a front-wheel-drive system and a 20 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, offering about 180 km of WLTC range and supporting 100 kW fast charging. The RACCO is expected to be priced at around 2.6 million yen (about RMB 121,000 / US$16,500), slightly above Nissan’s Sakura, the best-selling electric K-Car in Japan. [TechNode reporting]
