A GLOBAL football tournament is coming to ITV next month.
And it’s the first time the biennial competition will be shown on a free-to-air UK terrestrial broadcaster after 40 years.
The FIFA U17 World Cup 2025 will be held in Qatar, with some of the world’s best emerging talent up to the age of 17.
Germany is currently reigning champions, having lifted the trophy for the first time in 2023.
Nigeria has won the tournament the most, totalling five times.
England has won it once, back in 2017.

The deal with ITV will include coverage of all three of England’s group stage matches.
These are against Haiti, Venezuela and Egypt.
Select fixtures from the knockout stages will be shown on ITV4 and ITVX too.
A full schedule is due to be announced soon.
The competition will start on November 3 and is due to conclude on November 27.
“This deal marks the first time ITV has broadcast the FIFA U-17 World Cup and we are pleased to continue our relationship with FIFA ahead of next year’s FIFA World Cup 2026,” said Niall Sloane, ITV Director of Sport.
“The tournament will showcase the very best in young footballing talent and will highlight future superstars of the game.”
The tournament was founded 1985 when it started out as the FIFA U16 World Championship before changing to U17 in 1991.
