Alexa Plus Is Rolling Out on the Amazon Music App

Amazon’s AI-powered Alexa Plus is coming to the Amazon Music app. The company announced Tuesday that the next-generation assistant will roll out starting today on the music app on iOS and Android.

Customers who have Alexa Plus Early Access can use the assistant by downloading the latest version of the Amazon Music app and tapping the “a” button in the lower right corner.

Amazon announced Alexa Plus earlier this year. You can tap the assistant within the Amazon Music app when you can’t remember the name of a song or want to create a personalized playlist. Amazon said Alexa Plus “transforms the way we discover music by offering a more intuitive, conversation-based approach, turning what used to be a basic search function into an interactive discussion guided by your own curiosity.”

According to Amazon’s site, you can get early access by being in the US and owning or buying a compatible Echo or Fire TV device. Alexa Plus is free during the early access period and will remain free for Prime members. Non-Prime members won’t be automatically charged and can choose to sign up for $20 per month.

If you have Alexa Plus Early Access you can use Alexa Plus in the app across all Amazon Music subscription tiers. An Amazon Music Unlimited subscription costs $12 per month, $11 per month for Prime members, and includes on-demand, ad-free music, podcasts and one audiobook each month.
