Press release. Evolutio, a company specialized in providing cloud and cybersecurity services for the corporate market and Public Administration, has launched QUEEN (Quantum Enabled Enterprise Network), the network enabled for quantum encryption of data in transit that will respond to the resilience challenges of companies and public organizations in the Iberian Peninsula, redefining connectivity and security standards to expand clients’ operational capabilities.
The Spanish company will offer Internet (public network), Ethernet (private and dedicated) and hyperscale (direct and private network link to large-scale public cloud providers) connectivity in a single multi-service port, through network node technology, which will interconnect all of the main data centers in the Iberia region. In each of these data traffic centers there will be a communications node that, in the event of any interruption, will allow services to be provided from another data center. This redundancy will give Evolutio clients the certainty that they will be resilient at all times, since it will ensure that the connectivity they receive from their current providers, whether one or several at a time, go through different routes, also integrating satellite connectivity in case a failure occurs in the physical connections.
The resilience plan that Evolutio offers through QUEEN is articulated in three levels: network design and architecture, equipment and observability, and finally management and services, both during the deployment of the network and its subsequent operation. This plan also includes control of the service and monitoring in the event of possible emergency situations or other eventualities.
With each client, Evolutio will carry out a specialized consulting process to identify specific connectivity needs, determine the most appropriate level or levels of resilience and ensure solid operational continuity, both in daily activities and in exceptional scenarios.
“We want to remain very close to clients’ most critical infrastructures, complementing the capabilities they already have in connectivity and security, so that they have the maximum guarantees of operational continuity in the event of any unforeseen event, whether it be a power failure, a cyber attack or adverse weather phenomenon.”says Jacinto Cavestany, CEO of Evolutio. «Data communications networks are the backbone of the digital economy and modern management and operation systems. Through the QUEEN solution, we offer any organization, public or private, the connectivity it needs, with the possibility of incorporating redundancy when necessary. In this way, entities can anticipate challenges and protect what is truly important, whatever happens.”.
The highest possible security for data in transit, also invulnerable in the future
The protection of data in transit that Evolutio has adopted with QUEEN is post-quantum cryptography (PQC), which ensures that information encrypted today will remain resistant to the power of the quantum computers of the future.
This type of encryption of communications is one of the key trends in security currently in the face of a not-too-distant threat. Consulting firm Gartner predicts that by 2029, quantum computing will make most conventional asymmetric cryptography vulnerable, while by 2034 it may be broken completely. Apart from having post-quantum cryptography in QUEEN, Evolutio helps implement advanced comprehensive solutions to reinforce the security posture of organizations, protecting users, applications, data and networks, as in this case, in real time.
For the company, the cyber resilience of the public and private sectors in both Spain and Portugal is not optional. A positioning that Evolutio maintains in line with the upcoming European transposition of the Network and Information Security Directive 2 (NIS2) and Directive (EU) 2022/2557 (CER), as a complementary framework, which involve protecting network and information systems, users or other affected people against potential incidents and cyber threats, focusing on the resilience and continuity of critical sectors.
Individual emergency satellite connection solutions
Through QUEEN, Evolutio will also provide low orbit satellite connection services in severe situations in which there is no other connectivity element, guaranteeing operational continuity for several hours with autonomy provided by batteries, solar panels and other resources.
Aware of the high significance that these situations entail for organizations, QUEEN even includes individual portable connectivity solutions, designed specifically for senior managers and other managers responsible for critical business processes that need to be connected to manage crises and emergency plans.
«The consequences of a single day of economic inactivity can be catastrophic, negatively impacting the country’s GDP. No public or private organization can afford to leave so much at stake in certain circumstances, no matter how unpredictable they may be. At Evolutio, we strategically position ourselves on your side to guide you in the important challenge of technological resilience, as a fundamental axis of digital transformation, to provide you with much more than stability.”declares Jacinto Cavestany.
For the deployment of QUEEN, Evolutio relies on the long-term alliance it has with Lyntia Networks, a reference neutral operator in the wholesale telecommunications market in Spain.
Currently available, QUEEN is a pre-provisioned solution from Evolutio that also stands out for its speed of deployment, allowing organizations to start using the service easily and immediately, even in migration scenarios, with full flexibility and scalability to fit their requirements. Evolutio once again reinforces the capabilities of the market’s leading solutions, both in the public and private spheres, incorporating a new layer of resilience and providing the innovation that supports its extensive experience as a provider and integrator of services with high technological value.
