According to the latest report from International Data Corporation (IDC), China’s foldable smartphone shipments reached 2.63 million units in the third quarter of 2025, marking a 17.8% year-on-year increase. Total shipments for the first three quarters hit 7.62 million units, up 14.3% from a year earlier. The market’s growth was driven by the concentrated launch of new models and ongoing technological upgrades from major players such as Huawei, Honor, and Vivo. Huawei ’s innovative designs — including tri-fold and large-format foldables — are setting new trends in the industry. IDC forecasts that China’s total foldable phone shipments will approach 10 million units by the end of 2025, as the devices shift from being niche “early adopter” products to becoming part of mainstream high-end smartphone consumption.
