Dingdong Maicai, a New York-listed Chinese e-commerce company specializing in fresh groceries, has officially launched its international expansion with Saudi Arabia as its first overseas market. The company will primarily offer ready-to-eat meals, along with a range of fresh produce, refrigerated goods, and household products. The move follows a similar international strategy by Meituan, the Chinese food delivery giant, which also chose Saudi Arabia as its first overseas destination. The company is in the process of building a localized team in Saudi Arabia and has opened several recruitment channels for positions across product management, operations, customer service, sourcing, and government relations. Some roles are based in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. [Sina.com, in Chinese]
