Linux 6.19 Landing Initial Display Support For Xe3P_LPD / Nova Lake
SHARE

The upcoming Linux 6.19 kernel cycle is set to introduce initial Xe3P_LPD GPU support for Nova Lake as well as beginning to build out support for the Crescent Island graphics card. Now joining DRM-Next with that initial Intel Xe3P_LPD code for Linux 6.19 is being able to drive displays with that Xe3 hardware.

Sent out on Friday was the final drm-intel-next feature pull to DRM-Next ahead of the Linux 6.19 merge window opening in the coming weeks. Most notable with that final pull request is having initial display support for Xe3P_LPD “Display Version 35” hardware.

Intel Xe3P_LPD display patches

The patch enabling the Xe3P_LPD display IP features notes that it’s very similar to Xe2_LPD and at least for now is reusing the device descriptor from Xe2.

The Xe3P_LPD display enablement is the main feature change worth pointing out for that drm-intel-next pull. The Linux 6.19 merge window is expected to get underway at the start of December while the stable kernel should be out in February. Expect more Intel Xe3P support building out for the following kernel cycle that will likely be known as Linux 7.0.
