Marshall’s Acton III is getting a seasonal splash of colour, and it suits the already slick speaker perfectly.

The compact home speaker now comes in a deep burgundy finish that Marshall says draws on the “velvet lining of guitar cases”.

The hardware stays the same as the model fans already know, so you get the familiar mix of punch, clarity, and that classic amp styling.

The new shade joins amplifier black, retro cream, brown, and dark blue in the current lineup. Inside, nothing has really changed, which is good news if you liked the sound of the current version. The Acton III covers a 45Hz to 20kHz frequency range and plays in true stereo.

A 30-watt Class D amplifier handles the woofer, while a pair of 15-watt Class D amplifiers drive the tweeters. This fills small spaces easily and can hold its own in bigger rooms when you push the volume.

Connectivity is also reliable, with Bluetooth 5.2 keeping wireless playback steady and ready for LE Audio when that matters to you.

There is a 3.5 millimeter input for a source, too, if you want to plug in a turntable preamp or a laptop. Marshall’s dynamic loudness helps the speaker keep its tonal balance as you turn it up, so the sound does not thin out at low levels or get harsh when you crank it.

This is not a portable speaker, and that is by design. There is no battery, so think of it as a small home speaker that can sit on a shelf, a bedside table, or a kitchen counter. It stays compact while still carrying the brand’s signature presence and remaining fuss-free in daily use.

Much like the other speakers in the lineup, the Acton III is priced at £259.99 or $299.99, which works out to roughly €300 or about AU$520. The new burgundy finish clearly brings a warmer option for winter while keeping the same sound and simplicity, adding a slightly more festive look without shouting for attention.
