The Minister for Digital Transformation and Public Service, Oscar Lopezhas presented the balance report of the Government program to digitize the productive fabricknown as Kit Digital. Managed by Red.es, at the close of the deadline to submit applications to qualify for its aid, those granted to self-employed workers and SMEs exceed 860,000. These aid are distributed across 7,500 municipalities, which represents 92% of the total territory.
The Digital Kit Program was conceived to improve the digitalization of SMEs and the self-employed, and was provided with a budget of 3,067 million euros. Financed by the EU through the Next Generation EU funds within the framework of the Recovery Plan, it has become the main digitalization program in Spain. Its initial objective was to provide coverage to 676,000 SMEs and the self-employed, and in view of the figures offered by the Minister, it has far exceeded these expectations. In total, it has reached 127% of the objective.
It began its journey in March 2022 and thanks to its model, more than 1.2 million requests have been managed within its framework. Among the aid granted, more than half a million correspond to projects already completed. Another of its relevant data is that 39% of the self-employed who have benefited from the aid are women. Furthermore, it has reached all economic activities. Above all, to the sectors with the greatest need for digitalization, such as construction, transportation, and agriculture and livestock.
Another advantage of the Digital Kit is that its beneficiaries have improved their level of digitalization, which has gone from 38% to 51%. Furthermore, the productivity of SMEs has improved by up to 65% thanks to the implementation of the program’s solutions, according to a study by Red.es on its first call, aimed at companies with between 10 and 50 employees.
Furthermore, thanks to robotization tools, it has been possible to streamline aid management, avoid paperwork and reduce file processing time from three hours on average to three minutes. If the application was correct, the aid was granted within a period of 15 days.
So far, 24 million automatic checks have been carried out through 39 robots serving the program. The use of these tools has saved more than 9 million hours in administrative procedures, and more than 687,000 requests, 45% of the total, have been granted automatically.
On the other hand, Minister Γscar LΓ³pez has announced the launch of the Digital 360 Kit Portala website that collects the most relevant information about the design, development and impact of the program. It incorporates a control panel with a territorialized map of the aid granted so far, allows you to consult comparative data on the level of progress in digitalization of companies and reports on the most requested technological solutions within the framework of the program, among other data and utilities.
