GTA 6 is clearly the most anticipated game in history video games and, more broadly, of the culture population. While he was expected to this fallthen the May 26, 2026Rockstar Games has once again postponed its game to November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Without certainty whether, there again, the final date.
This will make more than 13 years of waitingsince the release of the last opus of the license Grand Theft Auto. It was the September 17, 2013 on PS3 and Xbox 360 with GTA 5.
Such a long wait makes people impatient. Maybe even a little too much. One year from its release, Rockstar Games’ next game (already) holds four awards and not less than five world records.

Last night was held the 43rd Golden Joystick Awards ceremonywhich was organized by the media GamesRadar. It was during this event that Rockstar Games was able to win two new awardspour GTA 6.
Initially, the starred firm won the Price of best trailer of the year. GTA 6 won well worth the price with 42% of the votescompared to 27% for Kingdom Come Delivrance II and 12% for Battlefield 6. The scores were much tighter for the second reward of the evening: that of most anticipated video game of 2026 and beyond.
This time, Rockstar’s game takes home the prize (for the second year in a row) with 18% of votescompared to 16% for The Witcher IVthe next title from CD Projekt Red which does not yet have a release date or period. The third game that completes the podium is Resident Evil Requiem from Capcom with 8% of the votes. Note all the same that, in this category, 20 games were named.
Without (too many) big surprises, #GTA6 wins its second prize of the evening at the Golden Joystick Awards with the prize for “most anticipated game for 2026 and beyond” for the second year in a row!

With these two new prices, Grand Theft Auto VI already counts four awards. Last year, the game had already won the categories of most anticipated game of 2025 and beyond during the Golden Joystick Awards and during the Game Awards. On December 11, GTA 6 can go and find his fifth award with his new nomination, in this same category during the new Game Awards ceremony which will be broadcast on Amazon Prime and most of the usual platforms.
Besides the prices, GTA 6 also starts to do break the records. In 2023, the release of its first trailer made it possible to bring down three world records with “the most viewed video game revelation on YouTube in 24 hours”, “the most liked video game trailer (through blue thumbs) on YouTube with, just for the first 24 hours” et “the most viewed non-musical video on YouTube in 24 hours”.
This year, with its second trailer, GTA 6 managed to bring down a new record with “the most viewed trailer of all time in 24 hours” with a total of 475 million viewsall platforms combined. A few days ago, it was the first trailer for the game, from December 2023, which set a new record by becoming “the most viewed trailer (excluding advertising spot) on the YouTube platform » with over 269 million viewsthus dethroning the trailer for Avengers : Infinity War and its more than 268 million views.
The wait is crazy around this next one GTAand it is certain that its release will be a true cultural phenomenon. See you, if all goes well, in just under a year.
