Press release. The Board of Directors of AMETIC, the voice of the digital industry, has appointed Celestino Garcia as the new general director of the association. His appointment responds to the employer’s desire to consolidate its momentum and strategic influence at a key moment for the development of the digital technology industry in our country.
Celestino García is a professional with a track record of more than three decades in senior management positions in the Telecommunications and Digital Industry sector. He began his career at the Telefónica Group and later joined Ericsson, as an account director where he participated in the launch of the Retevisión Group. Later he joined Samsung, a company in which he held different positions of responsibility until assuming the Corporate Vice President of the company for the markets of Spain and Portugal. In addition, he has experience in innovation and entrepreneurship projects. He combines his business experience with teaching as an associate professor at the UCM.
As new general director of AMETICCelestino García, has stated that “It is an honor to assume the general management of AMETIC and contribute to the development of an industry that is essential for the economic and social future of our country. I face this stage with enthusiasm, responsibility and a firm commitment to all associates. My objective is to work to strengthen collaboration, promote innovation and consolidate AMETIC’s role as a reference for digitalization in Spain and Europe”.

With its incorporation, AMETIC opens a new stage aimed at reinforcing its institutional influence, strengthening strategic alliances and continuing to promote a dynamic, innovative technology industry with greater international projection. García’s experience in digital transformation, corporate strategy and management of large teams will be key to advancing the objectives of the 2025–2027 Strategic Plan.

The new general director, who will officially join the association next Monday, November 24, allows AMETIC to face a new stage focused on growth, cohesion and collaboration, in order to continue adding value to the Spanish digital technological ecosystem and consolidate its position in an increasingly global and competitive context.
