Amid the growing integration of technology and fashion, AI is gradually transforming the fashion design process. Look AI, a product of Shenzhen-based tech firm, leverages advanced algorithms to provide designers with intelligent creative tools.

Traditional fashion design can be both complex and time-consuming, as designers spend considerable effort on sketching, selecting fabrics, and adjusting patterns, with many creative ideas taking time to materialize. Look AI meets these challenges by harnessing AI technology to streamline and optimize the design workflow, providing designers with a more efficient and accessible creative experience.

Real-time AI tools enable designers to see garment details as they draw

The core feature of Look AI is its real-time design capability. Designers can sketch on an iPad using common drawing software, and when connected to a computer, the AI product instantly converts the sketches into complete garment renderings.

As designers draw clothing contours or lines, details such as fabrics, folds, and structure appear on the screen in real time, which creates a true “what you see is what you get” experience. This approach improves design efficiency, allowing designers to focus more on creativity without spending excessive time on technical operations.

Supporting features: a convenient, multi-tasking toolbox

In addition to real-time design, Look AI offers a variety of supporting features. For instance, designers can upload photos of models wearing garments, and the system automatically detects and isolates the clothing, generating flat patterns for further processing. The tool can convert clothing photos into flat templates, apply prints directly, create textures from patterns, and intelligently adjust colors. By reducing the need to switch between multiple design tools, these features allow a complete design to be finished in as little as a few minutes.

Full-process integration from sketch to runway at industry events

At the Media Day of the first XIN Summit this November, designers sketched line drawings while the AI simultaneously produced finished renderings, adjusting details in real time to ensure accurate presentation of complex designs.

At last year’s China Lingerie Culture Week, Look AI introduced an innovative “design-as-runway” model. Once designers completed their sketches on site, the AI instantly generated a virtual runway animation and projected it onto the stage screen.

AI tools help designers work faster today and innovate for tomorrow

For independent designers and small creative labels, Look AI helps lower the barrier to entry. It speeds up the production of visual drafts and reduces costs, which allows designers to create more polished concepts at an early stage. Larger brands can use the tool to accelerate workflows, develop prototypes more quickly, or experiment with concept collections.

As its data and algorithms continue to improve, Look AI may find broader use across the industry, offering an optional tool for brands seeking to digitize parts of the fashion design process.
