This Galaxy Z TriFold unboxing gives us a few surprises

Samsung has shared the first official unboxing video for the Galaxy Z TriFold, giving us a clearer look at its debut tri-folding smartphone, though for now, it’s still a Korea-only launch.

The clip walks through everything that comes in the box and offers a full tour of the device’s rather unconventional hardware.

Unlike Samsung’s usual flagship approach, the TriFold’s packaging is a little more generous, which makes sense given the roughly $2500 price tag.

Buyers get a 45W charger, a USB-C to USB-C cable, and a Carbon Shield Case in the box, alongside the usual paperwork and SIM ejector tool. Samsung also shows a Carbon Standing Case, though that one’s an optional extra.

The video also highlights the TriFold’s design in more detail. When fully opened, the inner display stretches to 10 inches, while the 6.5-inch cover screen features an anti-reflective coating to reduce glare, a welcome touch for a device that will spend plenty of time half-folded or closed.

Viewers were particularly impressed by how Samsung managed to fit a multi-segment battery system into such a thin chassis, and some speculated that the form factor could finally deliver on the dream of a phone that becomes a true desktop-like workstation when connected to external screens and peripherals.

Still, the overall sentiment is one of excitement, even from users who just upgraded to recent foldables like the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and now find themselves second-guessing that decision. The idea of a high-end tablet that fits in your pocket seems to resonate strongly.

The Galaxy Z TriFold goes on sale in Korea on December 12, with wider availability coming later this month in China, Taiwan, Singapore, and the UAE. Samsung is also offering a one-time 50% discount on display repairs, which feels like a practical perk for anyone jumping into first-generation tri-fold hardware.

For now, the unboxing video might be the closest most users get to the TriFold, but it’s a solid look at Samsung’s most ambitious foldable yet.
