Tongji University, one of China’s top education institutions, recently signed an RMB 8.26 million ($1.14 million) procurement contract with Unitree Robotics for a general-purpose humanoid robot training platform, as published on the China Government Procurement Network. The purchase includes 10 Unitree H1-2 humanoid robots and other accessories, such as high-precision depth cameras and LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging). A staff member involved in the procurement at Tongji University told local media outlet Jiupai Finance that the humanoid robots will be used for student training. According to Unitree’s website, the full-size humanoid robot H1-2 stands 1.78 meters tall, weighs 70 kilograms, and features flexible walking and running capabilities with 360°depth perception.
