Apple TV now supports Google Cast on Android phones. The feature lets users cast shows and movies from their phone to a TV or a streaming device, provided both devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

Apple TV launched on Android earlier this year, and the new feature is rolling out with the latest app update (version 2.2). As 9to5Google reports, the cast icon appears to the top right of a video. Once the casting begins, you can access playback controls as well as audio and subtitle settings from the mobile app itself.

Casting is frequently used by those traveling or not wanting to use the TV’s built-in app. While Apple TV’s iOS app supports AirPlay, it still doesn’t support Google Cast.

The move arrives just days after Netflix practically killed support for casting on both Android and iOS. Casting from the mobile app is still possible, but only to a few select TVs and streaming devices. The streamer, meanwhile, is grabbing headlines with its attempt to acquire Warner Bros., HBO, and HBO Max.

Apple TV hasn’t been far from the news, either. It raised its subscription cost from $9.99 to $12.99 per month. Additionally, the streamer changed its name from Apple TV+ to Apple TV and rolled out a new, more colorful logo.

Riding on the box-office success of its original film, F1, Apple also announced it had grabbed the exclusive rights to stream the motorsport in the US. The film itself debuted on the platform on Dec. 12.
