MICROSOFT Copilot experienced a reported outage this morning, as customers complain about the second incident in the past week.

Nearly 400 users flagged an issue with Microsoft Copilot on DownDetector in the wake of the outage.

This comes less than a week after a previous outage reported by frustrated customers on December 9.

During this incident, more than 1,000 users experienced problems with the software.

One frustrated user commented on DownDetector: “Second outage in the last week. What’s going on?”

In a statement about the earlier outage, Microsoft said: “We’re investigating an issue in which users in the United Kingdom may be unable to access Microsoft Copilot, or experience degraded functionality with some features.”

The firm added: “Upon an initial investigation, we’ve identified this issue may impact any user within the United Kingdom, or Europe, attempting to access Microsoft Copilot.

“Indications from service monitoring telemetry suggest an unexpected increase in traffic has resulted in impact.

“We’re continuing to investigate further to determine the next steps required.”

The disruption sparked concern among businesses that depend on AI-powered productivity tools.

Copilot is an AI-powered assistant that helps workers with data analysis and other tasks.

The software is mainly used by people who work on Office 365. It is central to apps like Word, Excel, and Teams.

And it previously went down in November when users reported they could not perform any file actions.
