Looking back, 2025 has been a year of big promises. From the landmark Technology Prosperity Deal with the US, to the launch of Labour’s Industrial Strategy and AI Action Plan, the foundations of a tech-led economy are beginning to take shape.
These are all reasons to be optimistic. Early action on initiatives like TechFirst to better equip the British workforce is encouraging, and it shows that momentum is building. But as any founder will tell you, a strong start is not the same as a finished job. The next twelve months must therefore mark a shift from rhetoric to results.
With 2026 in sight, I’ve put together a Christmas “Wish List” for UK tech: a practical roadmap for what the ecosystem needs to thrive, and the challenges we must be ready to tackle head-on….
