IT’S the last chance to upgrade a popular TV gadget for free.
And you now have less than 48 hours to do it before the device is rendered completely useless forever.

It’s almost three years since Google made the sad decision to shut down the gaming platform Stadia.
Google Stadia was meant to shake-up the gaming business, long dominated by bulky consoles in your living room.
Instead, it relied on the cloud to stream games into homes with nothing more than a Stadia controller.
But the innovative idea struggled to take off, with lagging issues and a lack of exclusive titles.

Stadia was launched in November 2019 and the plug was pulled in January 2023.
To stop the controllers going to waste Google released a special online tool that converts it into a universal controller that you can use on other PC or smart TV devices.

However, there was a deadline on how long it would be available.
The tool was originally meant to shut down at the end of 2023 but it was extended until the end of 2024.
Google extended it again until the end of 2025 – and there are no signs that it’ll change the date this time around.
The website still says: “you can switch to Bluetooth mode, check the controller mode, and check for Bluetooth updates until Dec 31, 2025”.
So if you still have a Stadia controller it’s time to act now before the end of Wednesday.
Otherwise, the gadget will be completely useless forever.
HOW TO CONVERT YOUR STADIA CONTROLLER
Converting your Stadias controller will make it switch to Bluetooth mode permanently.
You’ll need a USB cable to connect the controller to a computer.
But before that, make sure your controller has been charged for 30 minutes.
Then visit this website and tap the Start button.
You’ll now be asked to plug the Stadia controller in and follow the on-screen instructions.
