LG has announced a new lifestyle range of televisions with the art inspired Gallery TV coming to the tech museum that is the CES show floor in Las Vegas.

The new range will go into competition with Samsung’s long-standing The Frame TV range that has enabled viewer to enjoy high end AV technology with a design that resembles a piece of fine art.

Just like Samsung, LG is shipping its new telly with a Gallery+ service that will ensure a collection of 4,500 pieces of art are available when viewers aren’t enjoying the latest guff on Netflix. LG says the 55-inch and 65-inch sets include a Gallery Mode that optimises both colour and brightness to ensure a decent reproducing of the original artwork.

“Central to this capability is a specialised screen that reduces glare and minimises reflections for an art-like viewing experience. The TV also automatically adjusts picture quality to changing ambient light to maintain clarity throughout the day,” LG says. The TV/canvas has a flush-mount design and there are customisable magnetic frames so users can switch up the look to match their home decor.

At its heart, the 4K MiniLED set is powered by an Alph 7 AI processor. LG is promising new details at CES, which gets underway a week from today in Las Vegas. Stuff will be present on the show floor and we’ll be sure to cast our eyes over this lovely bit of objet d’art.

LG will reveal the full specs and likely the availability during the event. The company has already revealed plans to showcase its Micro RGB sets, rebranded OLED tellies and new gaming monitors laden with world first tech. It sounds like LG is going all out this year.
