TL;DR

  • Acer is refreshing several of its laptop lines with the latest AMD processors at CES 2026, including the Nitro V 16 AI.
  • The Nitro V 16 AI includes support for up to the Ryzen AI 9 465 and up to the NVIDIA GeForce 5070.
  • The Acer Aspire series and Swift Go will also receive AMD refreshes this year, although pricing and exact launch dates are currently unknown.

Acer is known for producing a wide range of laptops across every segment, from business to gaming and everything in between. There is also often a variety of configurations featuring both AMD and Intel chips. Unfortunately, with so many options available, it can be difficult to keep track. For AMD fans, the most notable refresh at CES 2026 is the new Acer Nitro V 16 AI (ANV16-A71).

The new Nitro is not a major refresh by any means, but it is still a notable step up from its predecessor, with support for up to AMD Ryzen AI 9 465 processors and the NVIDIA GeForce 5070 GPU. That means there is a dedicated graphics card on board, making this machine well-suited for gamers and creators looking for capable performance on a budget.

Of course, to really make the most of the GPU, you need a display that can keep up, and the vibrant WUXGA panel on the Nitro certainly qualifies. Battery life is also expected to be fairly solid, with Acer promising multi-day battery life for extended use cases. This makes the laptop a strong option for traveling professionals who need serious computing power.

If you are looking for a new AMD-powered Acer machine but do not need a dedicated GPU, Acer is also refreshing the Swift Go 16 AI, Acer Aspire 14 AI, and Acer Aspire 16 AI.

Like the Nitro, both the Swift Go 16 AI and the Aspire 16 AI offer configurations with up to a Ryzen AI 9 465 processor. Many of the specifications are similar across the lineup, with the most notable difference being the absence of a dedicated GPU. If you do not need quite that much power, the Aspire 14 AI tops out at an AMD Ryzen AI 7 445 processor, while the Aspire 16 AI still offers configurations with up to a Ryzen AI 9 465.

The latest AMD-powered Acer laptops are expected to arrive later this year, starting with the Swift Go 16 AI in North America in April or May. This will be followed by the Nitro V 16 AI in July, while the Aspire 14 AI and Aspire 16 AI are currently slated for sometime in Q2. Acer says pricing details will be revealed closer to each product’s retail launch.
