At a tech show where every almost laptop brand has something new to shout about, doubling up on displays is a surefire way to steal the spotlight. The ROG Zephyrus Duo is officially the world’s first gaming laptop with dual 16in OLED screens, and gives me strong “supersized Nintendo DS” vibes. Asus has also used this year’s CES show to give its more mainstream Zephyrus G14 and G16 some attention with new Intel hardware.

The ROG Zephyrus Duo looks like the final form of a concept Asus has been working on for a few years now. Older Zephyrus Duo models made room for a keyboard by shrinking the second screen; this one bundles a detachable magnetic ‘board instead, leaving the entire bottom half of the laptop to be an uninterrupted display.

Both panels are from Asus’ top shelf, with 3K resolutions, 120Hz refresh rates, and DisplayHDR True Black 1000 ratings. Combined you’re getting a colossal 21in of diagonal screen space, in a machine barely 25mm at its thickest point. The 90-degree kickstand and 320-degree hinge rotation let it work as a laptop, in book-style portrait orientation, flat on a desk, or in a tent mode for two player gaming without the possibility of any 90s-era screen-watching.

Like most of the flagship laptops announced at CES this year, the Zephyrus Duo will arrive with Intel’s Core Ultra 9 386H processor- good for 16 cores, 32 threads, and a whole lot of desktop grunt. In top-spec form it’ll be paired with 64GB of memory, 2TB of SSD storage, and an Nvidia RTX 5090 Laptop GPU with a maximum 135W graphics power.

A redesigned motherboard and larger vapour chamber were needed to tame the component temps on account of there not being a keyboard to use for air intake. Asus has used a new breed of dual fans along with a graphite sheet that covers the entirety of the CPU and GPU, meaning thermal throttling shouldn’t be a concern.

There was still room at the sides for twin USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, two Thunderbolt 4 Type-Cs, an SD card reader, full-side HDMI, and a 3.5mm headphone port.

Asus’ other CES reveals include refreshed 2026 versions of the ever-popular Zephyrus G14 and G16. The pair were already some of the nicest looking gaming laptops around, with CNC-milled aluminium bodies that are impressively slim and svelte given the hardware inside.

The 1.5kg Zephyrus G14 can now be equipped with either an Intel Core Ultra Series 3 or AMD Ryzen AI 400 series processor, while the sub-2kg Zephyus G16 is exclusively Intel inside. It’s Nvidia dedicated graphics all the way, with the G14 topping out at an RTX 5080 and the G16 finding room inside for an RTX 5090. Expect up to 64GB of RAM and 2TB of storage, depending on the model.

ROG Nebula HDR OLED screens bring 1100 nits of peak brightness, earning the DisplayHDR True Black 1000 thumbs up from VESA, and 100% DCI-P3 colour coverage. The G14 has a 3K resolution panel good for 120Hz, while the larger G16’s 2.5K-res screen hits an even faster 240Hz; both have Nvidia G-Sync adaptive refresh tech for buttery smooth gameplay.

Redesigned bottom panels and an optimised exhaust vent improve ventilation over the outgoing laptops, while the signature slash lighting across the lid has been bumped from seven zones to 35, for even more customisation. Expect full-size HDMI 2.1, multiple USB4 or Thunderbolt 4 ports (depending if you go AMD or Intel), dual USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-As, 3.5mm headset port and a card reader – microSD on the G14 and full-size SD on the G16.

Fans of auteur game director Hideo Kojima will also want to check out the ROG Flow Z13-KJP, a special edition version of Asus’ gaming tablet designed in partnership with his Kojima Productions studio. The concept art was drawn by Yoji Shinkaw, the artist best known for his iconic Metal Gear Solid illustrations, and it wears a bespoke colour scheme. Asus has a bunch of branded peripherals to match as well.

Hardware is essentially unchanged from the ROG Z13 Flow I reviewed in 2025, albeit the Z13-KJP comes exclusively in top spec form. That means its AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 APU is paired with a whopping 128GB of unified RAM, giving its Radeon 8060S Graphics a serious amount of memory for games. There’s also 1TB of SSD storage lurking behind the 13.4in, 2560×1600 OLED display, which has a rapid 180Hz refresh rate.

Exact pricing and launch dates for all the new models announced at CES are set to follow soon – and hopefully won’t be too badly impacted by 2026’s surging RAM and storage prices.
