Samsung has just revealed its latest Galaxy Book line-up at CES 2026.
Made up of the Galaxy Book 6, Book 6 Pro and Book 6 Ultra, we’re especially keen to see what really separates the entry-level model from the mid-ranger.
We’ve compared the initial specs of the Galaxy Book 6 to the Galaxy Book 6 Pro and highlighted the key differences, alongside noteworthy similarities, between the two below.
Think you might need a bit more oomph from your new laptop? Visit our Galaxy Book 6 Pro vs Galaxy Book 6 Ultra guide to see how the premium computer compares.
Price and Availability
At the time of writing, Samsung is yet to reveal the exact pricing and launch date of the entire Samsung Galaxy Book 6 series. Instead, the brand has just teased that we can expect the computers “late January 2026”.
Samsung Galaxy Book 6 Pro has an AMOLED display
Before we dive into the differences between the displays, we should mention before that both the Galaxy Book 6 and Book 6 Pro come in a choice of two sizes: 14- and 16-inches. If you’re opting for the Book 6 Pro then the display will be a touchscreen, regardless of the size you choose. Otherwise, a touchscreen is only available on the 16-inch Galaxy Book 6.
Otherwise, much like the Galaxy Book 6 Ultra, the 6 Pro is fitted with an upgraded display that promises “vivid, high-contrast visuals” and “exceptional clarity in any lighting”. While the Galaxy Book 6 is fitted with a WUXGA (1920 x 1200) display and sports up to 350 nits brightness, the Book 6 Pro boasts a Dynamic AMOLED 2x display and up to 1000 nits peak brightness too.

Of course, as we haven’t reviewed either laptop yet, we can’t confirm how well each display really performs in everyday use. However, judging by the specs alone, the Galaxy Book 6 Pro sports more premium screen technologies compared to the Galaxy Book 6.
Samsung Galaxy Book 6 Pro promises a longer battery life
Samsung promises that it designed the entire Galaxy Book 6 series to deliver “seamless, all-day” power. Although it’s yet to disclose the Galaxy Book 6’s battery promise, Samsung claims that the Galaxy Book 6 Pro should deliver up to 30 hours of video playback. That, according to Samsung, is five additional hours compared to the previous generation and is among the longest-lasting Galaxy Book batteries yet (alongside the Book 6 Ultra).

Samsung Galaxy Book 6 Pro has a vapor chamber
For the first time in a Galaxy Book Pro model, the Book 6 Pro is equipped with a vapor chamber. Essentially, the vapor chamber works to ensure even heat distribution and keep the laptop run efficiently – even while multitasking and intense gaming too.
Not only that, but the Book 6 Pro is promised to have 35% improved cooling efficiency compared to the previous generation. This, Samsung explains, is thanks to the larger fins that attach to the vapor chamber and increase the surface area to allow air from the fan to carry heat away.

Both run Galaxy AI
It’s worth pointing out that the entire Book 6 line-up, including the entry-level model, runs Galaxy AI. This means you’ll benefit from features such as Note Assist which summarises and translates texts, Second Screen for pairing a compatible Galaxy Tab to your Galaxy Book 6 and a more natural search tool too.
Plus, as the Galaxy Book 6 series all runs on the newly launched Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors, both the Book 6 and Book 6 Pro are promised to not only be “lightning-fast” in everyday use but also offer a more responsive AI experience too.
Having said that, it’s worth noting that although both the Book 6 and Book 6 Pro run on Intel Core Ultra 7 or 5, depending on which version you choose, the Book 6 Pro also offers the X7 iteration too. The X7 is also found in the Book 6 Ultra and is designed to support higher-performance laptops that are used for more intensive tasks such as gaming or video editing.
Early Verdict
We’ll avoid providing a conclusive verdict until we review both the Samsung Galaxy Book 6 or Galaxy Book 6 Pro. Having said that, judging by their specs it seems that if you want a bit more oomph from your laptop to support heavier tasks, then the Book 6 Pro might be worth upgrading to.
However, we’ll have to wait until we see the RRP of the series and review each laptop to verify Samsung’s claims.
