Dell has confirmed that relaunches its range of XPS laptops with two new models, the XPS 14 and the XPS 16with 14 and 16 inch screens respectively. Both devices, presented within the framework of CES 2026, have been redesigned to improve their portability, performance and autonomy, in addition to adding new elements focused on sustainability. What does not change is the audience they are aimed at: professionals and creatives.

The new design of the Dell XPS has also focused on making them smaller and lighter than previous models in the family, in addition to optimizing their user experience and incorporating new hardware capabilities, so that they can work on different tasks related to AI.

Thus, the Dell XPS 14 and 16 have a more compact and lighter monocoque design, made of CDC machined aluminum and protected with Gorilla Glass. This gives more rigidity to its structure, improves its resistance and extends its durability. In addition, they have improvements in the user experience and relevant hardware updates, especially in artificial intelligence and energy efficiency capabilities. Its designers have taken care to eliminate visible lines, with a commitment to a minimalist aesthetic, with the XPS logo integrated into the lid of both models.

Dell has also restored the row of traditional function keys on these computers to improve tactile feedback. In addition, it has integrated a seamless glass touch panel, with elements that frame its active area. The keyboard, on the other hand, has deeper keys, as well as optimized feedback, with the aim of making them more precise and more comfortable when pressing them and using the keyboard on a regular basis.

These laptops integrate modular USB-C ports and keyboards that can be removed more easily than previous ones. In addition, they use recycled materials in their casing. They are found both in the steel of the hinges and in the cobalt and copper of the batteries, among other elements. Both meet EPEAT 2.0 standards, in line with Dell’s circular design goals.

They have an Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processor, as well as Intel Arc graphics with 12 Xe cores. These processors allow these laptops to offer the computing power necessary to use Copilot, in addition to allowing greater agility in image editing and fluidity in the playback of videos and games.

As for the redesigned thermal system, it has new fans, which Dell says are the thinnest and largest ever integrated into an XPS laptop. Thanks to their design, they improve the air flow inside the equipment, and contribute to lower temperature and quieter operation, in addition to promoting energy efficiency.

The new XPS are also the thinnest of the range presented so far, at 14.6 millimeters thick. They also have an 8 Megapixel 4K camera, and weigh about 400 grams less than previous XPS devices. 1.6 kilos for the XPX 16 and 1.3 kilos for the XPS 14.

Its 2K LCD screen is equipped with an intelligent energy management system with a variable refresh rate from 1 to 120 Hz. It drops to 1 Hz for static content, such as the text of an email on the screen, and goes up to 120 Hz when playing videos or scrolling through content. Its battery provides a range of 27 hours of use, which exceeds 40 hours of local video playback, depending on configuration and activity.

In addition to these two laptop models, Dell has announced that the XPS family will expand throughout 2026 with new models of different formats and prices. Among them is a new XPS 13, which is expected to be the thinnest and lightest in the range yet. It will be 13 millimeters thick and have an InfinityEdge screen, and will arrive towards the end of the year.

Meanwhile, The Dell XPS 14 and XPS 16 will be available starting January 27with new configurations starting in February. Both will be available initially in graphite color, and later in another tone known as Shimmer. Besides, the XPS 14 will be launched with Ubuntu 24.04 as the operating systemin addition to the one that will arrive first with Windows 11, throughout 2026.
