ZLUDA Adds CUDA 13.1 Compatibility For Running CUDA Apps On Non-NVIDIA Hardware
SHARE

The current incarnation of ZLUDA continues moving along for running unmodified CUDA apps on non-NVIDIA GPUs. Released on Friday was ZLUDA 6-preview.48 with now boasting CUDA 13.1 compatibility.

The current form of ZLUDA is on delivering CUDA for non-NVIDIA GPUs but not explicitly being tied to one GPU target/vendor like in the past. This multi-GPU CUDA implementation though has been taking a special focus on AI workloads but ultimately this implementation will hopefully allow most unmodified CUDA software to run gracefully on other GPU hardware.

It’s been a while since having anything new to report on ZLUDA but one bit to pass along is the ZLUDA 6-preview.48 release. After various adjustments to the codebase, NVIDIA CUDA 13.1 compatibility is now in place. CUDA 13.1 debuted back in December.

It will be interesting to see what the ZLUDA project manages to accomplish in 2026.
