AN AMAZON Fire product will stop working in just weeks, owners have been warned.
The shopping giant emailed customers to let them know that the accessory is set to be remotely killed.
The Fire TV Blaster stopped retailing last year, but this will be the first time Amazon has discontinued support for a Fire device so that it stops working entirely.
First launched in 2019, the accessory allows users hands-free voice control over Fire TV compatible streaming devices, including Fire TV Sticks and Echo smart speakers.
This meant you could ask your Alexa device to adjust the volume, change channel or turn the TV on or off.
When they were rolled out, Amazon said the Blaster would replace multiple remotes.

The email, seen by AFTV News, read: “Dear customer, We’re emailing because you purchased a Fire TV Blaster – an accessory allowing for hands-free control of soundbars and TVs when combined with a Fire TV stick and Echo device.
“In the coming weeks, support for Fire TV Blaster will be discontinued and the device will stop working.”
It added: “If you would like to recycle your Fire TV Blaster, Amazon covers all shipping and recycling costs through the Amazon Recycling programme.”
The Blaster was reportedly not a very well-selling product for behemoth Amazon, with only a few thousand reviews and a tricky set-up process.
It was largely replaced by the Fire TV Cube, a hands-free streaming media player with in-built Alexa.
While it offers many of the same features of the Blaster and more, it is also more expensive.
The newest model of the Cube will currently set you back £139.99, while the Blaster was initially priced at £34.99 in the UK.
Amazon has been approached for comment.
