Austrian Audio has unveiled The Arranger, a pair of over‑ear, open‑backed headphones aimed at audiophiles and studio professionals.

Austrian Audio has positioned them as a bridge between the award‑winning Hi‑X range and the high‑end Composer model. With a price point of £899, Austrian Audio believs that The Arranger offers a more accessible entry into its premium engineering without the steep cost of its flagship headphones.

The Arranger lands looking to provide enthusiasts a balance of ‘affordability’ and premium specification, competing with rivals such as Sennheiser’s HD800S and Focal’s Clear MG, but with Austrian Audio’s emphasis on serviceability and professional‑grade accuracy.

With a newly-developed 44mm dynamic driver that uses a diamond-like carbon (DLC) coated diaphragm for both rigidity and control, the aim for these headphones is to produce a fast transient response, with low distortion and bass extension that can reach down to 5Hz.

The open‑back design enhances spatial detail, giving music a natural, airy presentation. Given Austrian Audio’s track record with its Hi‑X series, we’re hoping these headphones will deliver consistent performance across genres.

Since its founding in 2017, Austrian Audio has built a strong reputation in headphone design with Hi‑X series earning multiple awards, while the Composer pushed the brand into the high‑end audiophile market.

Austrian Audio The Arranger

Add a headphone amplifier thanks to its 4.4 Pentaconn and 5-pin XLR connections, plus a high quality source, and Austrian Audio believes you’ll hear these headphones at their best, delivering a performance well beyond what “its size might suggest”.

Austrian Audio has leaned on its reputation for durability, ensuring the headphones are fully serviceable with replaceable components, a detail that appeals to professionals who demand longevity. Premium materials add to the comfort, making them suitable for extended listening sessions.

The Arranger goes on sale from February 2026 onwards in the UK through authorised dealers.
