Google’s YouTube TV platform is about to receive a much-requested fully customisable multi-view feature this year in a boost for subscribers who currently have limited options to switch up their streaming experience.

At the moment, YouTube offers a number of pre-selected multi-view bundles, generally around live sporting events, but rival services like soon-to-be-owned-by-Disney fuboTV enable users to completely customise the channels within the grid – just like Back to the Future II promised us.

In a blog post from YouTube on what’s in the pipeline for 2026, the company says it is planning on building the best viewing experience with limitless ways to watch.

CEO Neal Mohan wrote: “Building on our success in the living room, we’re driven by the simple belief that TV should be easy. We’ll soon launch fully customisable multi-view and more than 10 specialised YouTube TV plans spanning sports, entertainment and news, all designed to give subscribers more control.”

Those new plans are designed to give users ‘skinny’ bundle options in order to focus on whatever genres they prefer to watch. YouTube is yet to reveal full details about those plans and how much they’ll cost.

YouTube has offered a multiview feature since 2023 for sports and has done the same for news and weather since. If you really, really want a full dose of misery, you can flick between four 24-hour news channels at the same time for slightly different takes on what atrocities the Trump Administration is currently committing.

YouTube TV has been slow to adopt a customisable multi-view experience, despite a series of large and continuous price increases over the last few years.

The company now charges $82.99 a month plus tax at the base level. Access to 4K and offline downloads is an extra $10 a month too.
