IT feels like there’s no end to subscriptions these days – and they can quickly add up, costing you £100s a month.
One smarter way to beat the bills is to try bundling subscriptions. There are lots of ways to wrap together the costs of TV, music, video games and more – saving you cash quickly.
SKY TV BUNDLE
If you want to slash your TV bills, Sky is one of your best options.
There are several ways to get a few other streaming services bundled in with Sky on the cheap – as many come with free Netflix as standard.
If you get Sky Essential TV or Sky Ultimate TV, you’ll get Netflix wrapped in, worth £5.99 a month.
The cheapest Essential TV package is £15 a month.
On top of that, you also get Discovery+ for free, which is normally £3.99 a month.
So if you want to get cheap telly, you’re getting £10 of extra streaming bundled in with Sky.
If you choose Sky Cinema (which is about £10 extra a month) as an add-on, you also get Paramount+ bundled in.
Paramount+ is worth £4.99 a month, so it’s a decent freebie.
So with all of that, you’re paying £25 a month and getting:
- Sky TV
- Sky Cinema
- Netflix
- Discovery+
- Paramount+
That comes to a total value of £39.97, so you’re saving £14.97 a month – or £179.64 per year.
APPLE ONE BUNDLE
If you’re an iPhone (or iPad or Apple Watch or Apple TV or Mac) owner, then Apple One could save you a very decent chunk of change.
It’s a bundle that wraps in loads of Apple’s most popular subscription services – which could save you a small fortune if you’re already subscribing to music, TV and games platforms.
There are three Apple One plans available right now.
First is Individual, which costs £18.95 a month.
This includes 50GB of iCloud+ storage for your files, as well as the Apple TV+ streaming service, the Apple Music audio streaming service, and Apple Arcade, which gets you a catalogue of premium games with no ads or microtransactions.
You’ll save £10 a month versus if you’d paid for all of those services individually.
Then there’s Family, which comes in at £24.95 a month.
This ramps up the iCloud+ storage to 200GB, and has a bonus perk: you can share the plan with up to five family members.
So if you do decide to do that, your savings could grow significantly. You just need to convince the others to get off Spotify.
But the raw saving is £12 a month compared to individual pricing.
If shared between five people, the family plan also saves you £13.95 a month compared to the individual plan.
And finally, there’s Premier, which will cost you £36.95 a month.
This boosts the iCloud+ storage to 2TB (that’s 40x the 50GB included with the Individual plan).
And it bundles in Apple Fitness+ (which gives you more than 4,000 virtual workout videos to enjoy) and Apple News+, getting you access to hundreds of premium magazines and news outlets.
As well as that, you can still share your Premier perks with up to five family members.
This will save you at least £28.99 a month compared to paying for each service individually. That’s nearly £350 saved over the course of a year.
But if you decide to share it with family members, the savings could be far higher.
AMAZON PRIME BUNDLES
There are loads of great perks with Amazon Prime – like speedy deliveries or Prime Video.
But there are some extra ways to save money.
For a start, Prime Video itself is worth £5.99, so if you only want one streaming service and you like the idea of Prime, this is a good way to go about it. It’s a built-in bundle that could let you bin Netflix.
On top of that, Amazon Prime also nets you a year of free Deliveroo Silver Plus – normally £2.49 a month.
That gets you free deliveries on certain food orders, plus exclusive deals.
So if you were paying for a rival service, this is a good way to cut it out.
If you’re a Spotify subscriber, there’s another option worth thinking about for Amazon Prime.
Spotify normally costs £12.99 a month, but Amazon Music Unlimited is slightly cheaper at £11.99 a month.
And if you’re an Amazon Prime member, you can bundle Music Unlimited in and knock another quid off the cost – paying just £10.99 a month.
So it’s cheaper to bundle Music Unlimited in with Prime than pay for Amazon Prime and Spotify separately.
For gamers, you can tack on Luna+ for £8.99 a month.
This is a cloud streaming service, you pay a fee and then access video games over the internet – a bit like Netflix.
It means that you don’t need a physical console. You can just load up the app on your TV or a Fire Stick or even your web browser.
It’s a great alternative to Xbox‘s cloud game service because you don’t need Luna+ at all.
If you have an Amazon Prime membership, you get 50 games for free from Luna – including Fortnite and Hogwarts Legacy.
Luna+ will unlock bonus games, but it means you can avoid paying for a premium service just by having Prime.
STRAVA & RUNNA BUNDLE
When it comes to fitness (and specifically running) apps, Strava and Runna are two of the biggest names in the game.
Strava is more about tracking your runs and measuring yourself competitively against others.
Runna, meanwhile, is meant to serve up personalised training plans to help you hit running goals – whether you’re a total beginner or a pro.
A standard Stava Premium subscription normally costs £8.99 a month.
And a Runna subscription comes in at £15.99 a month, typically.
But you can bundle them together as an annual subscription for £119.99 a year, which works out at about £10 a month.
That’s saving you the yearly cost of Strava and Runna, both of which have £99.99 annual plans respectively.
So you’d save £79.99 overall by bundling the subscriptions together.
And it’s a great time to bag them, given it’s peak fitness season.
GOOGLE ONE FITBIT BUNDLE
If you’re looking for a cloud storage subscription, an AI plan, a home camera subscription, and a fitness service, then Google has a decent bundle available.
What you’re looking for is the Google AI Pro plan.
This gets you 2TB of Google Cloud storage.
And you can spread this across Google Photos, Google Drive, and Gmail.
And it also gets you access to the 3 Pro version of Google’s Gemini chatbot.
But perhaps the best bonuses are the fact that it includes two other plans as standard.
The first is Fitbit Premium, which gets you more advanced workout insights, daily workout recommendations, a library of over 1,000 workout classes, a Stress Management Score, and sleep pattern insights.
And the second is Google Home Premium Standard, which is a subscription plan for your Google Home gadgets (like smart cameras), netting you extra perks, including saving up to 30 days of video event history.
All of this wraps into a single £18.99 bundle.
There’s also currently an offer running that means it only costs £9.49 a month for the first two months – before switching back to its usual price.
So this could let you replace several subscriptions all in one go.
For reference, a Fitbit Premium plan usually costs £7.99 a month on its own.
And Google Home Premium Standard costs £8 a month.
Those two combined almost add up to the cost of the Google AI Pro bundle, never mind the significant cloud storage – and the AI perks to boot.
DISNEY+ BUNDLE
If you’re an O2 customer, there’s a Disney+ deal that you can claim.
You need to add Disney+ Standard or Disney+ Premium as a paid extra on your account.
It works just like a regular subscription, but it’s billed through your O2 plan instead.
And if you do that, O2 will knock £2 off your airtime plan every month as a discount.
It’s also worth noting that you can bag up to six months of Disney+ Standard for free just for being an O2 customer.
But once that’s done, it’s worth keeping the subscription wrapped into your plan for the airtime discount.
If you pay for Disney+ externally rather than as an O2 bundle, you won’t get the £2 discount.
It’s a decent saving of £24 a year, which is nothing to sniff at.
And Disney+ Standard is £9.99 a month, so those first six months of free service save you an additional £59.94.
It’s also worth noting that, while not technically a bundle, Lloyds Bank customers with a Club Lloyds account can get Disney+ Standard with Ads as their yearly benefit.
The account has a £5 monthly fee, but this is waived if you pay in £2,000 each month.
But Disney+ Standard with Ads is usually £5.99 a month anyway, so it’s still cheaper even if you end up paying the Lloyds account fee.
