Three years after the release of Forza Horizon 5while the studio is in full production of the next game Fablethe Playground Games teams are also at work on a new opus of the saga. After abandoning the license Forza Motorsportthe Turn10 teams joined Playground for the development of this suite.
Launched in 2012, Forza Horizon is a series of open-world car games, which draws its inspiration from the legendary saga Test Drive Unlimited (in 2007 and 2011) from Eden Games. Thanks to the resources of Microsoft, Forza Horizon has quickly become a must-have in racing games with extremely high-quality graphics, gameplay and content.
Release after the end of the saga Test Drive Unlimited and before the release of the first The Crew, Forza Horizon has arrived at the best time to quickly establish itself as the best game of its kind. After four successful opuses on Xbox and PC, the last part was entitled to a reissue on PS5, allowing sales to be revived.
During Summer Game Fest 2025, at the end of the Microsoft conference, Phil Spencer confirmed the development of a new opus. Discover now, through this file, all the information we know to date about the next title in the series.

Has Forza Horizon 6 been officially announced?

As expected, it was during the Tokyo Games Show 2025 that Microsoft unveiled the first teaser of Forza Horizon 6. The title is expected for next year on Xbox Series X/S and PC and later on PS5.
As of today (September 10, 2025), Forza Horizon 6 was never officially mentioned. On June 8, 2025, Phil Spencer confirmed at the end of the Xbox conference at Summer Game Fest that a new game Forza was in development. Without specifying whether it was a Forza Horizon or a Forza Motorsport. However, this summer, at the beginning of July, we learned that Microsoft had just stopped its Forza Motorsport license.
Thus, it is very likely that, during Summer Game Fest, Phil Spencer confirmed the development of Forza Horizon 6.

As rumors suggested, Forza Horizon 6 was announced at the Tokyo Game Show with a first teaser which confirms the destination of Japan.
According to the latest rumors, Forza Horizon 6 could be announced during the Xbox conference at the Tokyo Game Show which will take place from September 25 to 28. The first rumors from the corridors suggest that Microsoft could choose the TGS, since the next Forza Horizon could take place in Japan.
What media could Forza Horizon 6 be released on?

During its official announcement at Tokyo Game Show 2025, Microsoft and Playground Games confirmed the release of Forza Horizon 6 on Xbox Series X/S and PC and later on PS5. No Switch 2 version has been mentioned at the moment.
Between 2012 and 2016, the license Forza Horizon was a license only on Xbox consoles. From 2016, with Forza Horizon 3the license is arrival on PC. And, since 2025, with Forza Horizon 5the saga is also present on PS5. Many rumors point to an upcoming release on the Nintendo Switch 2.
So we can wait Forza Horizon 6 initially on Xbox Series X/S and PC. Then, later, on PS5 and Switch 2.
When could Forza Horizon 6 be released?

During the Xbox Developer Direct presentation, Playground Games and Microsoft confirmed that Forza Horizon 6 would come out well the 19th of 2026 with 4 days early access for owners of the premium edition (priced at 119.99 euros). The game is also confirmed on PS5 with a release in 2026, without further details!

A lot of information, including the release date, has leaked for Forza Horizon 6, shortly before its big presentation on January 22. The game is expected to be released on May 19, 2026, with 4-day early access, starting on May 15, 2026. The game will feature over 550 cars, with a Welcome Pack, Car Pass, “Italian Passion” Car Pack, as well as two premium expansions.

According to insider NateTheHate, the most reliable insider in recent months to whom we owe many revelations which have all proven to be correct, the release of the next Forza Horizon 6 would be expected for the first half of the year 2026, i.e. before the end of June. The license would therefore change its habits and abandon the September/November period. This decision would be linked to the release of GTA 6 (scheduled for November 19, 2026) as well as the possible release of Fable, the studio’s second game.
