Every week, Netflix adds a ton of new content for subscribers to stream. Watching all of it would take you more than a week even if you binged non-stop, so start your weekend with my three top movies and shows for the next seven days. The end of the month is always the lightest week, but January comes to a close with the return of Bridgerton, a can’t-miss live stunt, and more.
This Week on Netflix: PCMag’s Picks
Skyscraper Live (Jan. 23)
Netflix has been pivoting into some live-streamed events lately, mostly sports, but this latest offering is the most interesting. Free solo climber Alex Honnold has conquered summits all over the world, but on Friday at 8 p.m. ET, he’ll be facing off against Taipei 101, a 1,667-foot, 101-story skyscraper that was the world’s tallest building from 2004 to 2009. With no assists and no ropes, Skyscraper Live will be an incredible challenge worth tuning in for.

The Big Fake (Jan. 23)
Art forgery is one of my favorite crimes because it requires a massive amount of skill and audacity to duplicate a masterwork. New Italian crime caper The Big Fake tells the story of Toni Chichiarelli, a young artist who comes to Rome to seek his fortune, only to discover that his own paintings aren’t exactly paying the bills. After he falls in with some unsavory people, he turns his skills to copying fine art for them to sell, only to wind up in the center of nation-shaking events.

Bridgerton: Season 4 (Jan. 29)
One of the most consistently popular Netflix originals returns for a fourth season. If you haven’t hopped aboard the Bridgerton train, you might not have a woman in your life, but here’s the CliffsNotes: set in an alternate-universe 19th-century London where people of color are in the aristocracy, the eight Bridgerton siblings navigate their own entanglements in love, war, and business. It’s juicy, melodramatic fun.
