Chinese phone brand Oppo on Thursday launched its annual flagship smartphone, the Oppo Find X8 series, featuring inverted periscope zoom technology, a lightweight design, and advanced snapshot functions. While retaining a large sensor and aperture for enhanced image quality, this inverted periscope zoom technology tackles the industry’s issue of heavy camera modules that are thick and protruding, Oppo’s Chief Product Officer Liu Zuohu said at the launch event. It achieves a slim profile of 7.85mm and a weight of 193g, he added. The Find X8 Pro model offers a quick capture button design located in the lower right frame of the device. The button enables the “Shadowless Capture” function, allowing users to easily capture different moments by simply pressing the shutter without needing to switch modes. [Oppo Weibo, in Chinese]
