On Monday, Alibaba’s Qwen app announced the launch of a RMB 3 billion ($420 million) Spring Festival Treat Plan, offering massive free-order promotions to invite users nationwide to experience new AI-powered lifestyles during the Spring Festival. The program will go live on February 6, spanning multiple businesses across Alibaba’s ecosystem, including Taobao Flash Sales, Fliggy, Damai, and Hema.

It will provide full-scenario free-order services covering China’s Lunar New Year goods purchases, movie ticket bookings, and flight and hotel reservations, alongside the distribution of large cash red packets. This marks Alibaba’s largest-ever Spring Festival campaign in terms of investment, and also positions the company at the forefront of the industry’s intensifying AI competition. [Technode Reporting]
