Atos has decided to relaunch the Bull branda company that it bought 12 years ago, and which from now on will be the company in charge of encompassing all its areas dedicated to AI, high performance computing (HPC) and quantum computing. Once this is done, it will become a private and independent company.

This step taken by Atos comes after the company’s share purchase agreement with France was signed, materialized at the end of last July. If everything goes as planned by Atos management, the operation will be closed during the first half of 2026.

Currently, Bull has around 2,500 employees, and has a presence in Europe, Latin America and India. Its BullSequana high-performance computing systems are the integrated foundation in several of the most powerful supercomputers currently operating in the world. The X series architecture of these systems also supports exascale systems.

Bull will thus be a renewed company, with a new identity, and with more resources for its future. It will have a strong European industrial heritage, R&D activity backed by 1,500 patents, manufacturing capabilities and decades of experience. The company has more than a century of experience in computing and data science, and designs, manufactures and deploys both hardware and software, in addition to offering strategic services for companies and promoting scientific research.

Emmanuel Le Roux, Senior Vice President and Director of Bullhas commented that «con he launch of Bull, nos we reconnect con our legacy technological to build our future. Our mission es clara: offer technologies IT y of IA potent, sustainable y sovereigns what allow a los countries y a las industries innovate con trust y determination”.
