Xiaomi PR head Wang Hua has clarified that the Xiaomi Glasses account on the Chinese X-like platform Weibo was registered years ago and is not newly launched, after industry speculation about Xiaomi entering the smart glasses market rose following the account coming to light. Originally scheduled for release between March and April 2025, Xiaomi’s first AI glasses are now expected to launch this month alongside the Xiaomi 15 Ultra smartphone and the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra car, according to multiple media reports. Global AI glasses shipments are predicted to reach around 12.8 million units in 2025, a 26% year-on-year increase, according to market intelligence firm IDC. [Wang Hua Weibo, in Chinese]
