Intel today for Patch Tuesday released several generations worth of CPU microcode updates for addressing multiple security issues and functional issues.

The Intel Microcode 20260210 is now available with CPU microcode updates ranging from Core Ultra Series 2 and Xeon 6 back through Gen10 Ice Lake era processors.

Intel-SA-01396 was disclosed today as a security vulnerability allowing for possible escalation of privileges. But overall is deemed a low severity and this new microcode fixes that for those CPUs going back to Ice Lake.

Intel-SA-01083 was made public last August as a high severity vulnerability around privilege escalation within the SMI Transfer Monitor “STM”. Today’s microcode release has updated security handling around that vulnerability.

Intel-SA-01369 is also noted as a security advisory for today’s CPU microcode updates. However, as of checking their linked web page it has just been 404’ing so no details there.

Besides those three security vulnerabilities, there are a range of other functional issues resolved with today’s Intel CPU microcode releases. Linux users can grab the new Intel CPU microcode binaries via GitHub.

The Intel Security Center also notes a variety of other advisories made public for Patch Tuesday. Today’s other disclosures range from networking and chipset drivers to graphics drivers to their AI Playground, albeit mostly Windows relevance there.
