Portobello, Banksters, Lost Women Of Alaska: What’s New to Watch on HBO Max the Week of Feb. 20, 2026

HBO Max has a constantly growing selection of shows and movies from its partner networks, including HBO, Discovery, Food Network, and more. New stuff is added all the time, so here are my top choices for this weekend and the week beyond, plus everything new streaming below. The end of the month is typically pretty light on its calendar, but this week we have a pair of cool-looking European original dramas and a grisly true crime docuseries to sink your teeth into.

This Week on Max: PCMag’s Picks

Portobello (Feb. 20)

HBO’s first original Italian-language series snagged a high-profile creator in Marco Bellocchio, a writer and director who has been active in the country’s film industry since the New Wave of the 1960s. Portobello is based on a true story, where TV host Enzo Tortora was accused of being a member of the Camorra criminal syndicate, falsely sentenced, and locked in jail for a decade.

  • Director: Marco Bellocchio

  • Cast: Fabrizio Gifuni, Lino Musella, Romana Maggoria Vergano

  • Genre: Drama

  • Rating: TV-MA

  • IMDb Rating: 7.3/10

Banksters (Feb. 20)

Staying on the Continent, German drama series Banksters looks like a real thrill. Faced with his father’s mounting debts, Yusuf drops out of school and takes a job as a bank trainee. With three other trainees, he plans and executes a series of heists, only to be betrayed. But with all of his associates walking free, his sister must find out who ratted him out and make sure they’re brought to justice.

Lost Women Of Alaska (Feb. 26)

The second season of ID’s Lost Women dives deep into the chilling disappearance of multiple women outside of Anchorage, and the hunt for the perpetrator. When the corpse of Kathleen Jo Henry was found on the side of the Seward Highway, police and the FBI began an investigation that would rock the entire state. This is a truly gruesome case, and true crime lovers will dig the docuseries.

  • Genre: Documentary

  • Rating: TV-MA

  • IMDb Rating: 6.7/10
