I Love the Slim Design of Honor's V6 Foldable Phone
SHARE

Honor’s V5 foldable phone only launched last Summer, but the company’s already back with its latest model. The V6 is another book-style foldable, and I managed to get my hands on it at Mobile World Congress 2026. It packs a host of tech into an amazingly skinny body for a folding phone, and it’s set to go on sale in the UK and wider Europe in the second half of the year. It’ll likely hit shelves in summer, like its predecessor.

Honor has yet to announce pricing for the phone, but the previous V5 went on sale in the UK at the princely sum of £1,699. I definitely don’t expect the V6 to be any cheaper, but hopefully it won’t see too significant a price rise. Honor’s phones are not officially available in the US but that UK price converts to roughly $2,285.

So what do you get for your money? Well, the design is where much of that cash is being spent. At just 8.75mm thick when closed, the V6 is one of the skinniest foldables around. It actually shaves 0.05mm off its predecessor, not that you’re ever likely to notice that difference. Unfolded, the phone becomes just 4.1mm thick, but it still felt sturdy in my hands-on time.

The hinge feels strong, with a satisfying amount of resistance when you open and close it. Honor says it made the hinge from aerospace steel making it 87% stronger than the structural A pillar in a car. It’s also one of the first foldable phones that’s IP68 and IP69 rated for water and dust resistance. That means reading ebooks on a sandy beach or taking photos in the rain is no problem for this thing. It’s rare for foldables to be quite so resistant to water as most hinge mechanisms are difficult to make watertight.

I like this red and gold color. The vegan leather material has a soft, tactile feel.

Honor also says it’s refined the hinge to produce less of a crease. It’s difficult to judge exactly how well this has worked when I’m briefly looking at it on a street in Barcelona, but I definitely didn’t think the crease was overly obvious under the sunlight. I’ll reserve judement for when I’m able to see it side by side against rivals like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold.

The phone runs on Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, so expect blistering performance on par with other phones using the chip, including the OnePlus 15 and Xiaomi’s Leica Leitzphone. It also packs a 6,600-mAh silicon carbon battery which should give you enough juice to get through a full day of use. Camera specs include a 50-megapixel main camera, 64-megapixel telephoto camera and 50-megapixel ultrawide camera. How well these capture images remains to be seen.

It’s a skinny thing.

It’ll run Android 16 at its core and you can expect a whole wealth of AI functions on board, both Honor’s own and Google additions like Gemini Live and Circle to Search. It’ll also have deeper integration with Apple MacBooks, including the ability to use the phone as a second display for your computer and drag-and-drop file transfer between devices.
